My kids love to talk, especially my girls. They love to share with me their latest book or movie. Since Belle and Cinderella are usually reading the same books and always watch the same movies, they end up each one wanting to tell me the same thing at the same time. I call it “Tag team narration”!
It’s great! You really have to experience it to fully understand. Basically, Belle will start a story only to get halfway through a sentence before Cinderella cuts in. But, don’t feel too sorry for Belle, because it works both ways. Usually, it is quite entertaining, they are good spirited and enjoy sharing the spotlight. They correct one another and quibble of the details. They’re like an old married couple finishing each other’s sentences! There is the occasional time, however, it gets a little too competitive and I have to step in and direct traffic, so to speak.
Nevertheless, it is one of those “things” that light up my day (and sometimes my night!) and make me so happy that my kids have each other. I look at these two, especially, and see a lifetime of closeness to each other that is worthy of envy.
