For giving you a hard time about you having to travel. I guess I am getting soft in my old age. Last pregnancy, you spent weeks in Germany. Two pregnancies ago you spent two months in Iraq, and during baseball season at that! Six pregnancies ago, you spent six months out to sea, barely making it back for our daughter’s birth. (I am sure you traveled during the other pregnancies, but you know my memory!)
But I am cranky and tired. Life is more chaotic, and there is such a sense of reassurance when I know you will be home each evening. I know I am being selfish. I know it is just a week. I know this is part of what you have to do to support us and to help defend our country.
So, please forgive my little tantrum. Know that you are loved and appreciated, and that is why I hate to see you go, even for a week.

Thank you, dear. However, you are selling yourself short. During the last pregnancy I was in Korea for two weeks, Germany/Netherlands for two weeks, and Norfolk for one week.
I know how difficult it is when I leave, but it is necessary for my job. I wish I could find the perfect job close to home with no travel. If that happens you will probably be begging me to travel more.
