No, I didn’t win the lottery. I didn’t win anything. Or maybe I did. I won this life full of love, laughter and excitement.

But this little story isn’t about me. It is about Sweet Em. She is 19 months now and still doesn’t talk besides a very few words and various adaptations of our names. She understands everything but just can’t seem to put it all together. That is why we were so excited over her latest phrase.

The kids were playing an interesting game in the kitchen. They would lie on their bellies and commando crawl from one end to the other. Sweet Em joined in on the game. She was really quite the skilled commando! The winner of each round would exclaim "I won!". After hearing this several times, Em caught on. She would crawl across the floor, stand up and throw her hands in the air and yell "I won!". Plain as day, and soooo cute!

Of course, we spent the next couple of days encouraging her to repeat her great accomplishment. Which she did, of course, with great pleasure at our excitement.

I really think she is one of these kids who is just going to wake up one day speaking in complete, clear sentences. In the meantime, she is pretty content with her cheering section for each new expression spoken.
