Today is officially "blog catch-up day". I have terribly neglectful of Remembering Today. Now I am trying to remember yesterday, as well as the last month! Not a good plan for this pregnant brain.
This Fall has been slower than most. Only Sir Charles played baseball, and had a light schedule at that. For the first time in my career as a "baseball mom" I sat out many games. The only thing that eases my guilt is that the few games I did attend were Charlie’s worst games. Obviously, I shouldn’t go! He did go on to play with the varsity team and win the championship.
We did make it to the Orchard for our annual apple picking. Check out the new "Fall Fun" photo album. Everyone except Sweet Em and pregnant Mama had a great time climbing trees and tossing apples to each other. We are set for Apple Crisp and Apple Pie until next year, I am sure!
What we didn’t get to do was go to the Pumpkin Patch. Time and money were both factors. I can’t say that I was sorry to miss the "hayride" this year. Next year, we will scope out a better location and I will have more energy to make a day of it.
Halloween came and went with little fanfare. In fact, for the first time we didn’t even get a pumpkin to carve. The kids pulled out their beautiful costumes that I bought last year, a mix of Disney princesses and LOTR characters. Daddy took them around the neighborhood while Sweet Em and I hung out waiting for trick-or-treaters that didn’t come. But the kids had a good time and stress levels were low.
Sir Charles also got his learner’s permit this Fall. Teaching him to drive is actually going better than I thought. He is eager to learn and respectful. I admit I feared he would be over-confident and not want to listen to Mom. We have yet to test out the treacherous back-roads of our county, I might leave that one for Dad to do.
Two dear friends have had babies in the past month. Kathy had a sweet little boy, John Patrick Blaise. And Ruth had a beautiful baby girl Maria Therese-Rose. So, now it must be my turn!!!
I am sure I am missing some wonderful moments from the last few weeks. I will try to hit on some more specific highlights throughout the day as they come to me.
Tomorrow, Court’s mom is coming to stay for two weeks. I will be so glad for the extra pair of hands as D-day gets closer. But, that means that this blog might end up on the back burner again. I will try to keep up the best I can.
