Sweet Augustine has refused to eat. Over the months, we have tried baby food, yogurt, bananas, cheerios, even ice cream. He wouldn't even open his mouth. I was beginning to actually worry and even planned to ask the doctor at his well-baby check on Thursday if she thought something was wrong with him.
Then on St Patrick's Day, we had our usual Corned Beef feast which all the kids love. After dinner, Daddy put a sliver of corned beef in Augustine's mouth. To our surprise, his face lit up and he started chewing! He reached for more. For the next half an hour or so, he ate corned beef. The total amount he ate probably wouldn't be more than two bites to an adult, but he savored every sliver! I even had to pull a piece out when I went to put him to sleep.
And that was the turning point. He is now eating bananas, chicken, cheerios, yogurt, little baby food finger food! No ice cream yet, but it is Lent, you know. 😉
So, no worries here anymore!
