Now, my four year olds have all had pretty impressive vocabularies. You couldn't understand some of them when they spoke to you. For those of who understood them, though, they would always amaze us with their command of the English language. But the other day, Teresa, who is very hard to understand, was telling me about the people in the game she was playing. Honestly, I was a little distracted and wasn't quite following along as closely as I should have been. Until, that is, she said the word that just grabbed my attention and cracked me up coming from her little mouth. It went something like this: " And the people were just horrified…" Horrified? Where does a four year old come up with that word? And then use it appropriately? Of course, she couldn't figure out what I thought was so amusing. I am surprised she didn't tell me (as she has before) "Mommy, you are acting like a baby!" 🙂
So, the winner for the best 4 year old word yet is HORRIFIED.
