The Feast of the Assumption, my mother’s 66th birthday, a great day to have a baby. Because the hospital where I was to deliver was a minimum of an hour away, with no traffic, we decided it would be wise to induce my 6th baby. When I was offered the date of August 15, I thought it couldn’t get any better than that.

Little Red came into the world after a long (for me) and frustrating labor. My only epidural. But she was a beauty, with fuzzy red hair and bright blue eyes. The red hair was a surprise, the first in the family.

Little Red turned four almost two weeks ago now and I just haven’t had the chance to post about it. But I couldn’t let the opportunity go by to reflect on the precious gift we have in her and share her with you.

This is a child who so amazingly full of life. Her laughter is contagious. She just radiates joy.

This is also the child who lives up to her red hair when she in unhappy. Look out when she is angry! This is the child that made me pray for more time before having another child because it was all I could do to keep up with her.

This is the child who is so loved and so cherished. Four years have gone by so quickly. In so many ways, I wish time would stand still while I soak in all there is to enjoy in her.  I know she will always amaze me and give me joy as she grows. But right now, I just want to hold on to my Little Red just as she is.
