We use Singapore math. Each grade has two workbooks, A & B. Princess Belle finished 2A this week and was all set to move on to 2B. She pulls it from her school basket and proceeds to decorate the cover. First things first, after all.
Then she does the first couple of lessons only to realize that the rest of the book is done. Why, she must have already done this book and forgotten! (Oh happy day!)
I am a little skeptical, however. So they decide to do some investigative work to decide who had done the work. Belle compares it to her writing in book A. Hmmm, maybe. Then B gets into the action and they compare it to B’s writing in his math book. Close, but perhaps his writing has changed in the last two years.
In a last ditch effort to uncover the truth, Belle checks her basket again. Lo and behold, a brand-new 2B workbook! Sorry Belle! Looks like your not quite as far ahead as you thought.
(The upside is she got to decorate the front of another book. The real mystery is why the first couple of lessons in B’s book weren’t done.)
