Since I have visited this place to record our days and preserve our memories. We are down to one computer, so my time on it is limited, as is my quiet time to think and reflect here. So many, many changes since then. It was one very long, very hot summer. A summer spent close to home, hiding from the heat, and growing this baby inside of me.
My last post talked about a little guy who wouldn't eat. He quickly turned into my biggest eater yet. He's so big now, with new words every day, stringing two or three together now and then. He is so full of energy. He loves wrestling with Augustine and running laps through the house. He's learning to spend more quiet time doing things like playing with his blocks or cars.
Charlie has been in Afghanistan for a couple of weeks now. We had two weeks with him before he left. My days are filled with fervent prayer for his safe return.
And my growing baby…. 75 days until she is due to arrive! Amazingly, this has been my best pregnancy. Before I conceived, I had kicked the sugar habit and improved my diet considerably. Had I known what a difference this would have made, I would have done it twenty years ago!
The cooler days are so welcome, the early darkness brings a peace. We are working on earlier bedtimes, more quiet time for reading and knitting and baking and, hopefully, blogging. We have some fun plans for the Fall before we hunker down for winter and new baby time. Field trips and pumpkin patches and visits with family in the next few weeks.
I am re-dedicating myself to stopping in here often. My perfectionist self wants to wait for the perfect moment. Since it has been five months since I have been here, that obviously isn't working. So, I am going back to seizing the moment, as imperfect as it is. It's all going so fast, and I don't want to forget a day, let alone months at a time.
