We celebrated my parents 50th anniversary this weekend. It was a wonderful day! All of my brothers and their families were able to make it, along with my mom's sisters and some good friends of my parents. Tim and Margaret graciously opened their home and provided a delicious spread of food.
Father Ed, who went to college with my dad, and who married Court and me, was also able to make it. We are so glad he did. He performed a beautiful marriage renewal ceremony. There were many teary eyes in the room. Dad said it was better than the first time!
50 years! What a wonderful testament to love and sacrifice and commitment. They raised seven children, who didn't exactly make their life easy. They are beloved by their 16 and 3/4 grandchildren. It was an amazing thought that almost everyone there wouldn't have been if not for their love and openness to life. Now, that is a legacy!
