Dear Friends and Family,

We hope this letter finds you well and
happy during this most joyous

time of year!

2009 has been another good year for
our family. We are very blessed.

Life rolls by, almost too quickly, and the
children grow and change

daily. The day by day changes are subtle, but looking
back over the

year, they are profound. They get taller without you noticing
until

they are almost nose to nose with you. They mature with each new

book
they read or lesson they learn. It is a wondrous thing to be

part of every day!

Life doesn’t change much for us. Court
is still our hero, working long

hours and commuting way too far. He makes it
possible for us to

have our beautiful home in the woods and for Molly to be
home

full-time to homeschool the kids. We just wish he weren’t gone so long

everyday. Molly’s days are filled with all those things that go into

keeping a
home for ten people, and schooling five students. There is

nothing else she
would rather be doing! What a joy to share their

lives!

Charlie graduated from high school in
June. He has enlisted in the

Marine Corps and leaves for boot camp in January.
This has been his

lifelong dream and we are happy for him, although we will
miss him.

It is hard to have our first leave the nest. It signals a new phase
of

life we aren’t quite ready for.

Katherine is thirteen now and almost as tall as
her mother. She

received the Sacrament of Confirmation in June. We are very
proud

of how seriously she takes her Faith. She is working hard on her

studies.
She is taking classes through an online classical academy.

She still loves to
read and seems to disappear for hours when she

starts a new read! She may be
ready to hang up her baseball cap,

but her career ended on a high note as a
pitcher on the All-Star

team in the spring.

Timmy turns twelve this month. He
is playing basketball this

winter and loves the game. He is still a reluctant
student, but enjoys

reading a variety of books. He is a great big brother to
his little

brother. He puts him down for naps and plays “guy” games with him.

It is so nice that they have that bond!

Regina just turned ten. She can’t
believe that she has reached double

digits, she keeps telling us. She is our
resident artist. She is amazingly

talented. She is also a gifted poet. It is
incredible to watch her sit

down and pen a lovely poem in a matter of minutes.
One of her

poems about the Blessed Mother is being published in our parish

bulletin!

Elizabeth is eight, which means she
finally graduated from a car

seat! Brilliant as ever, she is almost done with
fourth grade math

and reads constantly. She is also learning to type which she
just

loves. She is preparing to receive her First Holy Communion this

spring.

Clare is six. She is our beautiful,
fiery red-head. She has a flair for

fashion and loves to put outfits together
and to play dress-up. She

really enjoys being outside, and likes to convince Katherine to take

her to the
creek on nice days.

Teresa is three. Need I say more? She
is a handful but keeps us

laughing with her expressions and her condescending
way of talking

to us. It’s hard to discipline her when she is so cute! She is
the spitting

image of Katherine
at that age. Our main goal is to keep her out of

trouble, which she seems to
always be looking for, and dragging her

little brother into as well.

Augustine is turns two this month. He is
the absolute cutest little boy

imaginable! He is blond with big blue eyes and a
sweet smile.

Everyone just adores him. He is so busy, especially with Teresa to
lead

him along. If they aren’t fighting over something, they are getting

into
something. They keep things interesting!

That’s us in a nutshell. It is so hard
to share our lives in a couple of

pages. Life is good and we are so happy to
have each other, our

Catholic Faith, and good friends and loving family.

God bless you all!
