Teresa, looking out to see why the dog was barking, said "It's okay, it's not poopey-S!" Otherwise known as UPS.
Eating her gingerbread cookie tonight, she got a shocked look on her face (you can't even imagine the looks she gives, oh my!) and said "I don't like these", pointing to the red hots, "they make my tongue hurt." Unfortunately, all her cookies have LOTS of red hots. Oh wait, she is eating them anyway!
Maybe I have mentioned this one before. My mom is called Grandmommy. Little children tend to shorten that in their own way, usually something close to Gram. Teresa can't say the G sound, instead she makes a D sound. Therefore, my mother is affectionately referred to as Dam. 🙂
The children were discussing which countries they would like to visit. They all listed somewhere far away. Teresa said that she wanted to go to America. A minute later she asked if Daddy would drive her to America. When it was explained that she was already in America, she declared "I think I will go with Clare".
Teresa's favorite movies are the "Maria" movie(The Sound of Music) , and the "Maria with the dark hair" movie(West Side Story). Close seconds are the "Elizabeth" movie (Pride and Prejudice) and the "Angel of Music" movie (Phantom of the Opera).
One time, Katherine was going to watch I, Robot. Teresa wanted to watch, too, and Katherine said it was a scary movie not a funny movie. To plead her case, Teresa said "I promise not to laugh"!
It's good to remember and smile at the cute things she says and does, because she is more than a handful these days! But all too soon, those cute little Teresa-isms will be gone, so we need to enjoy every minute and just take the bad with the good.
