So this little assignment is floating around Facebook. I thought I'd post it here for all you non-Facebook types. HT: everyone! (leave me a comment with a link to yours)
1. I have lived in the same state all my life. (That would be Virginia, not confusion!)
2. I had great plans to marry a rich doctor. Instead, I married some enlisted Navy guy working in a bar and I am so glad I did!
3. Yes, I am old enough to have a son who is 17 and about to graduate from high school. Tell me I don't look it, please!
4. Growing up with six brothers, I always thought I would be the mom of
boys. I am, but only three. The other five are girls. Totally different
world.
5. I love French Vanilla Cafe from General Foods International coffee.
6. I have a little thing for Jack Bauer. Just a "little" thing, nothing worth telling my husband about.;-)
7. I was once a PoliSci major at JMU. I love politics and wish I had more time to follow. Then again, maybe not these days.
8. I can't "do hair" to save my life. So, God gave me 5 daughters. Funny joke.
9. I hate going shopping but I love shopping online.
10. I am a Dittohead. Now more than ever. (That would be a Rush
Limbaugh fan for those of you in Rio Linda.) My husband sometimes
accuses me of being a far-right wing extremist who doesn't look at both
sides of an issue. And the problem with that is….?
11. My favorite thing about winter is that I get to stay home all the time!
12. My house is a mess. Today. Always. And it's not because I don't try. Really.
13. Over half of my children have never slept in a crib.
14. I have been pregnant and/or nursing for over 13.5 years. I expect
to hit the 14 year mark since Seth will probably nurse several more
months at least. After that, who knows…
15.Dinner is a four letter word in my house. 😉
16. I love the "idea" of entertaining. It is all the preparation that stresses me out and makes it a rare occurrence.
17. I am learning to relax a little though and realize that the people
in this house are more important than how the house looks.
18. My husband and I dated less than six months before we were married.
In fact, the total number of days we spent in each other's company (we
were three hours apart) was less than 40! So far, so good!
19. I have a candy addiction, especially sugary sweets like candy corn
and jelly beans. Only Brachs, though, you gotta have some standards.
20. My dad gave me a wonderful birthday gift years ago, which I haven't
been able to use yet. He put aside the money for me to get Laser Eye
surgery. I have to wait until I am not pregnant and/or nursing (see
#14) to have it done. I really can't wait to be able to see across a
room again!
21. I don't believe in institutionalized learning. I was an A student
in a college prep high school and remember so little it isn't funny.
Until you are ready and have a reason to learn something, lectures and
textbooks are useless. The classes I was interested in, I still
remember much of what I learned.
22. One of my son's teenage friends told me that he heard I was really pretty when I was young. Hard to imagine, huh? LOL!
23. I love Jimmy Buffett, Bare Naked Ladies, The Beatles and Marie Bellet.
24. My favorite book is Les Miserables. It is my favorite musical,too. I think I know all the words to the soundtrack.
25. I am a homeschooling, babywearing, extended breastfeeding, natural
childbirthing (okay not every time), cloth diapering, T-Tapping,
conservative Catholic momma of eight great kids so far. That about sums
it up.
